Antenatal Education and Postnatal Support in the comfort of your own home

Alessandra D'Angelo - Founder

I am a senior midwife in London and a mum to a lovely and playful 2-years old daughter.

I moved to London from Italy in 2011 when I had the opportunity to have an extraordinary experience in a birth centre, supporting low-risk women during natural labour who chose not to use any kind of pain relief medications and support them during their antenatal period, birth and early post-partum period.

I have been working in a variety of maternity settings both antenatally and postnatally in the past 10 years. In 2014 I joined one the world-class maternity unit in Central London where I led the antenatal education and antenatal clinic services, delivering tailor-made care to the patients i was caring for.

I have obtained a Master in Advanced Practice in Midwifery (Kings College London) in 2019, focussing  my attention on to evidence-based care, research and normalising birth.

My passion is in supporting women and their families during the joyful journey to parenthood and equip them with all the tools and knowledge they need to grow thriving and happy children, as well as enhance their childbirth experience.

I am also a first aid instructor, a KGH hypnobirthing teacher as well as on my journey towards becoming an International Certified Lactation Consultant.

Our mission is to provide evidence-based education and leave parents-to-be confident and well informed for the arrival of their child.

The Birth and Beyond also aims to guide and support families in the first few weeks after baby's arrival providing both face-to-face and telephone consultation with an experienced midwife or a breastfeeding advisor.

Services for you!

Antenatal & Postnatal classes

Antenatal and Postnatal education classes for both first or second time mums.

These classes can be both face-to-face with a maximum of 4 couples where you have the opportunity to learn about birth, baby care, dealing with emergencies, breastfeeding and ask any question you may have. You could also choose to do them over 1 full day or on skype if you happen to be out of London and do not fancy travelling.

Breastfeeding support

This is an opportunity to have both a face-to-face or a telephone conversation with an experienced midwife or a breastfeeding advisor.

If you are having difficulties breastfeeding or you do not feel confident enough in the first few weeks, an experienced midwife or breastfeeding advisor can support you through this difficult time.
